American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)
Harris County has been allocated $4.4 million in Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). To receive this funding, Harris County must submit a substantial amendment (Amendment) to the Consolidated Plan 2008 Annual Action Plan to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The public comment period for this Amendment is April 21, 2009 – May 5, 2009.
Harris County released a Request for Proposal for HPRP funds in July of 2009. The County selected five agencies to distribute HPRP funding to help stabilize housing for Harris County residents. If you are a client seeking assistance with HPRP, please call Harris County Social Services at
(713) 696-7900 to make an appointment.
