American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI)
The American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI) was signed into law on December 16, 2003, and provides downpayment, closing costs, and rehabilitation assistance to eligible first-time homebuyers. ADDI programs are administered as a part of the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME).
Eligibility criteria include that the home buyer:

must be first-time homebuyer(s) interested in purchasing single-family housing; |

|
|
v |
has not owned a home during the three-year period prior to the purchase of a home with ADDI assistance; and |
|
|
|
|
v |
has income not exceeding 80% of area median income. |
The Harris County Community Services Department (CSD) is administering these funds through the Downpayment Assistance Program (DAP) in its Lending Services Section.
