In Houston-Galveston Area Council’s Method of Distribution approved by the State on March 5, 2009, Harris County will be a recipient of $84 million in Texas CDBG-D Non-Housing Activities Recovery funds. The Harris County Community Services Department (CSD) has developed an application proposing the planned expenditures of $56 million (less the allocations for Pasadena and Baytown who are applying directly to the State) for the Texas CDBG-D Non-Housing funding. CSD has selected to work with local small cities, non-profits, and special districts within Harris County affected by Hurricane Ike with repair, rehabilitation, reconstruction, construction, and hazard mitigation activities. The term of the program will be for 24 months.
Questions or comments regarding the Harris County Non-Housing Application will be accepted at HCCSD. Please submit all comments by July 27, 2009, to: Planning Section, Harris County Community Services Department, 8410 Lantern Point, Houston, Texas, 77054, (713) 578-2000.
